MY Voice participates at MPIC event against forced labour in palm oil

December 11, 2023, Johor Bahru

MY Voice had a booth at the “Sesi Penerangan Dan Dialog Guna Tenaga Agrikomoditi” briefing and dialogue session organised by the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (MPIC). The session was the fourth in a series of similar events by the Ministry to provide a platform for companies and workers in the palm oil industry to gather and discuss issues related to forced labour. The session was attended by 100 palm oil companies. Speakers were mainly from the Council for Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants (MAPO), Malaysian Immigration Department, Department of Labour, Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), and Fair Labor Association.

MY Voice highlighted opportunities to get involved with the project as a private sector partner, emphasizing the fully funded support partners receive to help them implement robust social compliance systems in their operations or supply chain.
