Human Rights Festival 2023

Human Rights Festival 2023 was organized by the Bar Council Human Rights Committee in conjunction with the annual Human Rights Day. This event’s objective is to highlight the efforts of various human rights organizations and migrant workers’ groups, simultaneously empowering the public to support human rights. MY Voice had a booth at the event, showcasing our initiatives thus far to visitors from key migrant worker groups, CSOs, human rights groups, and more. Information disseminated at the event aimed to inform stakeholders about the current situation of forced and child labour in Malaysia’s palm oil and garment sectors and highlight the project’s ongoing efforts to address these issues. The importance of workers’ education and access to information was a key focus, especially the Just Good Work app, which offers accessibility and compact, on-the-go information on labour rights to migrant workers.
